THE MEETING GUIDE
Working between Cairo and Istanbul
A useful meeting time is more than a difference between two clocks. When coordinating Cairo and Istanbul, check the calendar date on both cards before you send an invitation. This converter uses Africa/Cairo for the origin and Europe/Istanbul for the destination. Move the slider to see the same instant in both places, including any change of date. Copy the result into your message so colleagues receive a date, a time, and an explicit UTC offset instead of an ambiguous abbreviation.
Date-specific examples for 2026
Cairo is 1 hours behind Istanbul on 2026-01-15.
Cairo and Istanbul have the same UTC offset on 2026-07-15.
| Date in origin city | Cairo | Istanbul |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-01-15 | 09:00 +02:00 | 2026-01-15 10:00 +03:00 |
| 2026-07-15 | 09:00 +03:00 | 2026-07-15 09:00 +03:00 |
These are two dated examples, not a guarantee for every date in the year. Choose your actual meeting date above. Offsets use the IANA rules available in this build or your browser.
Make room for both working days
Start with an ordinary working window of 09:00–17:00 in Cairo, then inspect the corresponding hours in Istanbul. These hours are a planning convention, not a statement about a particular employer or local holiday. If the working days do not overlap, agree on a short exception or use an asynchronous update. Rotate inconvenient calls across your team rather than expecting the same people to join early or late every week.
Choose the date before the hour
Time-zone differences can change throughout the year. Regions may begin or end daylight saving on different weekends, and some never change their clocks. Always choose the actual meeting date. The slider follows elapsed minutes within the origin city’s local day: a transition day may contain 23 or 25 hours. A repeated clock time has a different UTC offset. For recurring events, use an IANA time zone in your calendar and review future occurrences.
Business meeting etiquette
When inviting colleagues in Cairo and Istanbul, include both local dates and times in the invitation, send a short agenda in advance, and ask participants to confirm their availability. Avoid assuming that a time inside a usual working day is convenient: lunch breaks, flexible schedules and holidays differ. State the planned duration, nominate someone to share written decisions, and rotate any early or late calls across the team. If there is no comfortable overlap, offer a written update instead of requiring an overnight meeting.
Frequently asked questions
Can the destination be on a different date?
Yes. Istanbul may be on the previous or following calendar day relative to Cairo. Read the full date under each clock. A copied conversion includes both dates to prevent this common scheduling mistake.
Does PST mean Los Angeles throughout the year?
No. In this tool PST is a fixed UTC−08:00 offset; KST is UTC+09:00. Choose Los Angeles when you want its seasonal daylight saving rules. City names and IANA identifiers are safer than short abbreviations for future appointments.
Will this work offline?
After a successful online visit, the installed app can reuse recently cached pages. Pages you have not visited may still require a connection. Calculations run on your device and use its time-zone data, so keep your browser and operating system up to date.
